The terroir and the vineyard

All year long, the vineyard is maintained in an exemplary and reasoned manner. The family is involved in all stages of the wine-making process, from planting to bottling.
The terroir of CHATEAU des MARRES is made up of sandy-clay-schist soils resulting from the degradation of the Maures. The proximity of the sea provides a thermal and hygrometric buffer that limits heat waves and excessive drying out.
The climatic conditions are exceptional.
A harvested culture is practiced there. A disbudding is carried out in May, as well as a destemming in mid-July in order to respect a yield and a quality worthy of the AOC Côtes de Provence appellation.

THE GRAPES VARIETIES

On the 27 hectares of plantation that the CHATEAU des MARRES counts, the main grape varieties are :

  • For the Rosé: Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvedre.
  • For the Red : Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon.
  • For the White : Rolle, Semillon, Viognier (local wine).
